About us

The JMU Graduate Academy is a central academic institution that aims to strengthen doctoral education at University of Würzburg. The JMU Graduate Academy cooperates with all faculties and graduate schools, consolidates information and develops offers for all doctoral candidates. The faculties and graduate schools are responsible for the doctoral process from registration to completion. Alongside the faculities and graduate schools, the JMU Graduate Academy's goal is to strengthen research at University of Würzburg and to specifically support doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.

To achieve this, the JMU Graduate Academy pools information on doctoral studies at the University of Würzburg and offers specific qualification courses for doctoral candidates and postdocs of all disciplinary backgrounds. Furthermore, the JMU Graduate Academy coordinates pathways towards a university-wide registration of doctoral candidates and common doctoral regulations for the entire University of Würzburg.

The JMU Graduate Academy reports to and advises the university leadership on the topic of doctoral studies.
