Qualification Programme Leadership in Science

The Women's Leadership Program is aimed at female junior professors, professors, and experienced working group leaders at the University of Würzburg who want to expand and strengthen their leadership skills. The focus is on the individual development of each participant and profitable networking within the group. The joint work in the closed group of participants as well as the coordinated modules form the exclusive unique selling point of the Leadership Programme.

The Women's Leadership Programme at the University of Würzburg is again being advertised and funded within the framework of the Professorinnenprogramm III. It is coordinated within the Gender Equality Academy under the direction of the University Women's Representative.

Target Group

Female academics at JMU who are already in a position of responsibility due to their work and who want to expand and strengthen their individual competencies as leaders.

Programme Duration

The Leadership Programme runs for a year, starting in October.

Five workshops provide important input on leadership topics in the first half of the year. These topics are translated into the participants' own practice in the second half of the year: here, the participants receive individual coaching of up to five sessions including an individual leadership style analysis. The findings from both sequences are brought together in a follow-up workshop in the second half of the year.

To keep the exchange alive, follow-up events and joint networking meetings with the programme's 'alumnae' are also offered after a one-year phase.

Programme Elements

As a basis for the qualification, workshops on leadership and management topics are conducted by professional external trainers in the group.

Following the workshop phase, each participant in our programme is given the opportunity to take part in a personal coaching session. During the coaching sessions, individually identified leadership topics are worked on and a personal leadership style analysis is prepared.

With regular fireside chats, the programme offers you a further, larger networking space: we invite not only leaders from our university but also guests from science, culture, and society.

For participating in the qualification programme, you will receive a certificate from the Gender Equality Academy.
