The Deutschlandstipendium is financed equally by private and public funds raised by the university. This means that the awarding of scholarships is largely dependent on the amount of funds raised from private sponsors, as this is the only basis for topping up with federal funds.

The first step is to submit the most important application data in electronic form. An online application platform will be made available for this purpose from 25 June 2026 (8.00 a.m.) to 16 July 2026 (8.00 a.m.). You can use this to enter and submit your data. Mandatory and, in your opinion, other suitable written documents can only be submitted in electronic form via this platform. Please consider that your application process, including file upload, will take some time. The process must be completed by the application deadline of 16 July 2026 8:00:00 a.m.
The selection procedure begins after the end of the application period and usually takes at least three months.
All applicants will be informed of the result of the selection procedure in writing.
Please bear in mind that due to the limited number of possible scholarships (especially in the humanities subjects) and due to the generally high number of outstanding applicants, even a very good ranking in the selection process cannot guarantee that you will receive a Deutschlandstipendium.
