Project concept
Agile project management
Agile working methods are being used in the projects for the introduction of the DMS at the University of Würzburg. The agile approach is already a standard in modern IT projects, as functional products are quickly put into the hands of users despite unclear and changing framework conditions. This creates acceptance and trust in the product and the software is tested under realistic conditions. During operation, the handling and software is improved and extended to meet user requirements.
Advantages of agile project implementation
- Enables a faster ZV-wide introduction of WueDMS with basic functionalities.
- Enables an almost parallel introduction of WueDMS in several OUs of the ZV.
- Enables the early identification of OU-specific use cases.
- A platform is created for joint agile learning between the users involved with the WueDMS project group and with each other.
Process management through the use of WueDMS
The organisation of administration in departments always reaches its limits where the successful processing of procedures involves several departments. The explicit consideration of the procedure - the process - offers the advantage of defining a clear procedure as well as clear responsibilities and requirements in order to ensure that cross-departmental tasks are completed in the best possible way on a permanent basis and independently of individuals.
As part of the WueDMS project, the necessary standard processes, for example for incoming and outgoing mail with WueDMS, are developed and introduced. Once the implementation projects have been completed, the project team also provides support with the digitalisation of existing cross-departmental processes.
