Visit of Jibin S. (IISER TVM)

07/28/2025

From July 20th to 24th, 2025, Jibin S., a PhD student in the group of Prof. Mahesh Hariharan at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram, visited the University of Würzburg. His stay followed his participation in the International Conference on Photochemistry (ICP) in Aachen the week before.

As part of his visit, Jibin delivered a scientific talk on July 22nd titled “Shaping the Dark State: Molecular Strategies to Achieve TADF and RTP in Carbazole Systems.” In his lecture, he presented molecular design strategies to control dark state dynamics, with a particular focus on thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) in carbazole-based materials — topics that align closely with the research goals of IRTG 2991.

Jibin is well known among the IRTG PhD students for his contributions to the start-up meeting earlier this year, where he provided valuable support and insight. In return, the IRTG PhD students at JMU organized his visit and took the opportunity to show him around Würzburg, reflecting the strong sense of collaboration and exchange between the participating institutions.
