Key ESD topics in the LehrLernGarten
Our educational work focuses on a changing range of topics from "classic" biological topics, such as knowledge of species and forms, interdisciplinary topics such as climate and vegetation zones and topics from the field of education for sustainable development (ESD), which require specialist knowledge and other skills from biology and beyond.
In the area of ESD, we are currently focussing in particular on four topics biodiversity, climate change, consumption and nutrition. Based on exemplary (crop) plants that play an important role in our lives, the influence of the individual on local and global ecosystems is examined. We look at the issues from an ecological, economic and social perspective. Together with the learners, we develop and evaluate individual options for action in terms of sustainable development.
