Fundingprogrammes for Postdocs at the JMU
JMU Mobility Fellowship: Funding of up to €15.000 for research stays abroad lasting 1-3 months
JMU Seed Grant: Funding of up to €30.000; Support for proposals for individual projects
Postdoc Plus Funding at GSLS: Start-up funding of up to €12.500 for development of an invidiual proposal in the life sciences
SCIENTIA Career Development Programme and SCIENTIA Scholarship Programme offer personnel development for female scientists at the first qualification levels: the mentoring programme is aimed at (advanced) doctoral students, the PostDoc Programme at young female scientists with a doctorate, and the coaching prepares them individually for upcoming career steps. Excellent junior female scientists at JMU can apply for the SCIENTIA scholarship programme: It supports women in a transitional phase between two career steps, to initiate third-party funding, to be able to complete a post-doctoral project, etc.
WISNA Programme: This programme coordinated by the Professional Development Department supports newly-appointed junior professors on tenure-track positions in their qualification process. Junior research group leaders can also take part in the programme offers.
Professional Development Network (PDN): The network ensures a coordinated, strategically orientated and sustainable portfolio of offers for all employees of the University. The network consists of the Professional Development Department, the JMU Graduate Academy, the Graduate Schools, the Diversity and Equality office, the Universtiy Teaching and Learning Department, Research Advancement Center, the Press Office, Conflict Counselling, the Healthy University, the WueLab and the International Office.

Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften (BAdW): BAdW is a research facility as well as a network of researchers across disciplinary boundaries.

Daimler-Benz-Stiftung: up to 12 Scholarships for Postdocs and Junior Professors. All discplines welcome.

Deutsche AIDS Stiftung: Stipend for dissertation or habilitation in the field of HIV AIDS or other STDs.

Fulbright-Schuhman Program: Scholarships for European citizens for research in the USA with a focus on EU affairs/policy or US-EU transatlantic agenda

José-Carreras Leukämie-Stifung: Three stipends for early-career scholars working in experimental and clinical research with experience in hematological, cell biological, immunobiological, and psycho-oncological research, specifically focused on leukemia and related blood diseases.
Funding: up to 41.400€ for one year, with possibility of renewal for another two years
