Winter School "Gender and Health"

The topic of gender and health is highly topical and concerns both the biological and social dimensions of gender. For three days, we will approach this topic on different levels, e.g. with questions such as: Where does gender-sensitive medicine stand? What does AI have to do with gender and health? How can gender influence mental health? We will discuss these and other questions with scientists from the University of Würzburg and experts from other fields and disciplines.

POSTPONED!!! Kick-off event of the "Gender and Diversity Research Forum" POSTPONED!

The kick-off event will take place at a later date.

We want to expand the content of the Gender Forum to include other forms of diversity in human interaction. The reorientation as a "Gender and Diversity Research Forum" will be presented at a kick-off event - this time in person - in the GSLS rooms at JMU. Our aim is still to promote inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation between the faculties and the integration of different research approaches. In short, we want to expand the network in order to strengthen or initiate new research collaborations. The event will be opened on 10 October 2024 at 15:00 by Vice President Prof. Dr Anja Schlömerkemper, followed by a poster session for students and early career researchers. At this opportunity, participants can present their research on ongoing projects related to gender and/or diversity research to a broad audience and network within the university. The best poster will be honoured with a prize. After the poster session, Prof. Dr Heike Rittner (Chair of Pain Medicine) will give a keynote lecture entitled "Gender differences in pain perception - what is it?" at 16:15.
