Chemistry and Pharmacy

The faculty of pharmacy maintains close contact with Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. The cooperation began in 2014, when eight representatives from Germany (including the University of Würzburg) visited the 'China-German Symposium' on 'Silk-based biomedical materials' in Hangzhou. A project on 'Macrophage plasticity deployed for efficient bone regeneration' emerged from this symposium. This resulted in a cooperation with the Suzhou Silk Centre. The project, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), ran from 2015 to 2018 and enabled two doctoral students from Würzburg to spend a research period in Hangzhou.

In addition, the faculty hosts several PhD students funded by the China Research Council (two PhD students from Nanjing Pharmaceutical University) and one post-doc funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
