25.07.2023

Impressions of Valeria Gazzola's fascinating talk and Christian Scharun's impactful workshop on Science Communication.

The end of the semester marked a remarkable occasion for all attendees at the recent Dinner Meeting and the Science Communication Workshop.

Valeria Gazzola's Captivating Talk

The highlight of the Dinner Meeting was the interesting talk presented by Dr. Valeria Gazzola. With her expertise in human behavior and neuroscience, she delved into the fascinating topic of "How the distress of others affects our behavior and brain responses." The audience was captivated from the start as Dr. Gazzola explored the complexities of empathy and its impact on our social interactions.

Drawing from her research, Dr. Gazzola provided how empathy could be ingrained in our brains and how it shapes our responses to the emotional states of those around us. Her talk sparked lively discussions.

Exciting Workshop on Science Communication

The semester's culmination included an invaluable workshop on science communication, expertly led by Dr. Christian Scharun (NaWik). Participants delved into an interactive session, gaining valuable techniques to present complex ideas in an engaging and understandable way, underlining the importance of clear communication and connecting with diverse audiences. Dr. Scharun's insights left a lasting impression on all participants and put them in a position to bridge the gap between science and society a little more and make their research more accessible and impactful to the public.
