From May 23 to 25, 2026, the Africa Competence Center will once again be represented at Europe’s largest and oldest festival for African music and culture – this time in front of City Hall at the Vierröhrenbrunnen. In the University Tent, which has been an integral part of the Africa Festival for more than 15 years, we present a selection of the many Africa-related research projects at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.

On 7 February 2026, as part of Black History Month Würzburg, a hybrid symposium followed by a concert will take place under the theme "Uniting People Through Sounds: Musical Arts, Inclusion and Cultural Partnerships."

Welche kolonialen Spuren finden sich in Würzburg – und warum sind sie heute noch relevant? Die Ausstellung „Würzburg und Kolonialismus: Gestern? Heute!“ wird am 30. Juni 2025 im Würzburger Rathaus eröffnet und ist anschließend bis 29. Juli zu sehen.
