Applying to become a Fellow at SCIAS is a simple and straightforward process. All you need to do is fill out ourREGISTRATION FORM (which should include a short abstract of the purpose of your visit) and a short CV of no more than 2 pages.
The SCIAS board of directors will then evaluate your application and decide within a short timespan.
Internationally renowned researchers from universities or research institutions around the world may be appointed as fellows of the Siebold-Collegium. To allow for a productive atmosphere of collaboration and exchange, fellows generally spend three to twelve months at SCIAS. In exeptional cases, shorter stays are also possible.
During their stay at SCIAS, the fellows work closely with one or more faculty members of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität. Fellows may use their visit to deepen existing collaborations with JMU members and/ or establish new contacts.
Please be aware, that the funding for the fellowship must be secured in advance of the nomination/ application, e.g. via resources available to the host at JMU or grants provided by funding agencies.
Subsidies can be granted to cover all or a major part of the Welzhaus rent.
