Aspects of Hindu Iconography

This talk introduces elements of Hindu iconography to a broad audience.The first part provides an overview of major components that are taken into consideration when identifying images of divinities. The second part focuses on the question of the interpretation of meaning(s) of the attributes, and  the relationship between textual prescription and representation in art.
