Postdoc Career Lecture

During your academic career many questions might arise regarding your personal reflection and development. Especially as a postdoctoral fellow, decisions are to be made concerning individual career paths, important changes and challenges as well as phases and processes connected to these changes.Many postdocs feel that they would need more time and exchange with networks or adequate contact and sparring partner. As part of the Postdoc Career Lecture, we would like to offer a platform for discussion, development and exchange in oder to answer questions which

  • focus on the possibilities, approaches and experience reports of different paths
  • enable you to reflect on your personal competences
  • prepare you for different career paths both within as well as outside academia
  • enable you to further expand personal networks
     

Our event series is addressed to postdoctoral scientist from all research fields who want to pursue a career in academia or who want to embark on a career in business/industry. The following 6 sessions always take place Wednesdays between 12 and 2 p.m. – partly digitally and partly as in-class lectures (depending on the current development of the pandemic). Since we want to ensure an intensive exchange, the number of participants is limited and we kindly ask for prior registration:

We will start the Post-doc career lecture with an interesting experience report by professor Specht and the possibility of exchange with the keynote speaker. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to get to know the participants of the Post-doc career lecture as well as the professionals from Graduate Schools (UWGS), Academic Staff Development (ASD) and Gender Equality Academy (GEA).
