Barış Kabak’s work focuses on the areas of internationalisation, alumni, and public relations.
Prof. Kabak was born in 1974 in Istanbul, Turkey. He studied English language teaching and linguistics at Boğaziçi University in Turkey, the State University of New York at Binghamton, and the University of Delaware (USA). He gained a doctorate from the University of Delaware in 2003.
After completion of his doctorate, Prof. Kabak joined the University of Konstanz as a research associate. In Konstanz, he was later appointed to the position of Junior Professor of English Linguistics (2005) and also served as interim professor in the fields of general and English linguistics.
Prof. Kabak has held the Professorship of English Linguistics at JMU since 2011.
