The following techniques are available to all research groups:
Large Scale Protein Expression
To obtain high amounts of soluble proteins, they are usually expressed in E. coli. The yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia pastoris as well as insect cells are also used for protein expression. If you need help concerning protein expression, we will try to assist you in designing your expression constructs, optimizing your expression protocol, and carrying out expression at the desired scale.
Transgenic mouse technologies
Conact: Nieswandt Group (Dr. Dr. Katharina Remer)
Transgenic mice can be generated in collaboration with the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Knockout mice technologies are offered in cooperation with the ZEMM.
Contact: Prof. Dr. Andreas Rosenwald (Pathologisches Institut)
A DNA array unit was established in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research and provides access to custom-made as well as commercial array analyses.
