Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg is committed to helping its academic staff advance their careers and realize their professional potential by providing them with well-structured support and services that are tailored to their needs.
In 2016, the University adopted a staff development policy that outlines the strategies and goals it pursues in connection with staff training and development. This policy is supplemented by JMU’s policy for the training and development of academic staff.
Academic Staff Development fosters an organizational culture that creates predictable opportunities for academic staff and provides appropriate structures and initiatives to make these visible and transparent, both internally and externally.
JMU’s efforts in the area of training and development for academic staff are aimed at:
- providing career development support for researchers at all career levels and supporting them in their role as leaders, supervisors, and mentors,
- promoting equal opportunities and the selection of the most talented individuals,
- helping researchers explore alternative career options in industry and society,
- promoting the ongoing development of existing structures and initiatives.
