Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) offers its students above-average conditions in many areas of the Master's degree programmes in Management, International Economic Policy and Information Systems. This is confirmed by a new ranking by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE), which was published on 20 November 2023. JMU receives very good ratings from Master's students in the subjects of business administration, economics and business informatics.

These very good results are based on a CHE survey of Master's students at the Faculty of Management and Economics in Würzburg. Depending on the subject, up to 15 different criteria, based on student evaluations and facts, are taken into account in the new comparison of Master's programmes. In addition to the general study situation, the students also assess the transition to the Master's programme and the courses offered. In addition, facts about the faculty's research performance are assessed, such as the research funding obtained or the number of publications.

Management: Well Prepared for Studying Abroad

Students on the Management degree programme give their subject 4.4 out of a maximum of five stars in the areas of courses, transition to the Master's degree programme and study organisation. Among other things, they give above-average marks to the number of participants in the courses, the opportunities for individual specialisation and the accessibility of lecturers.

The Management degree programme also performs significantly better than the average of all programmes in Germany when it comes to completing part of the degree abroad. The excellent support in preparing for a study abroad programme, the information about stays abroad, the financial support provided by the faculty: These are all points that are rated above average by Würzburg Master's students.

International Economic Policy: Broad Range of Courses

The International Economic Policy degree programme scores highly with its particularly good range of courses in the areas of supervision by lecturers, support for stays abroad and digital teaching elements. Among other things, the respondents awarded high marks for the breadth of the course content and the didactic skills of the lecturers. They also rated the information provided by the faculty on organisational issues, the flexibility of the degree programme through the use of digital teaching elements and, in general, the university's support with regard to formal procedures at the start of the Master's degree programme positively.

Information Systems: Well Organised

The Master's degree programme in Information Systems received 4.5 out of five possible stars in the area of study organisation. Its students also give above-average marks to the support provided for planned stays abroad - from counselling during preparation to arranging internships abroad and financial support for stays abroad. As far as the courses offered at JMU are concerned, numerous aspects of this degree programme score particularly well, such as the number of participants in and access to the courses, the didactic skills of the lecturers and the support offered during the course of study for subject-related questions.

The many positive ratings for the degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Management and Economics at the University of Würzburg are also a result of the good studyability of the degree programmes: over 94 percent of students on the Master's degree programme in Management manage to complete their studies within one year of the standard period of study.

"We are proud of the pleasing performance of our Master's degree programmes. We have continuously developed the degree programmes in recent years and are pleased that our modern teaching programme is well received by students," says Professor Thomas Zwick, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics at the University of Würzburg.
