At the University of Würzburg, lecturers instruct more than 29,000 students in ten faculties and over 250 degree programs for high-skilled professions.

The central task in teaching is the provision of research-based professional expertise and competences to prepare students for the professional world and broaden their individual educational horizons.

With a wide range of advisement and support programs, we accompany our students through the entirety of their studies, from the introductory phase to successful completion of their degree.

Our lecturers are committed to carrying out these support tasks to the best of their ability, and they actively endeavor to provide high quality, innovative teaching.

"Ars legendi-Preis Fakultätenpreis 2019" Announced

For the sixth time, the Stifterverband, the Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung, the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker and the Verband Biologie, Biowissenschaften und Biomedizin in Deutschland are offering the award for excellent university teaching in mathematics and the natural sciences.

Funds for Innovative Projects in Teaching

The University of Würzburg wants to support its teachers in implementing innovative ideas and projects in teaching quickly and easily. A fund for innovative projects in teaching was set up for this purpose.

The new fund enables the University of Würzburg to make human and material resources available on an as-needed and short-term basis in order to provide additional for improvements in the areas of study and teaching.
