According to the Federal Statistical Office (27 June 2012), around a quarter of all fathers have claimed parental allowance for their children born in 2010. The question of a successful return to work after parental leave therefore also arises for them.

Becoming a father - family guide

The Family Guide, a service of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, has added the term "becoming a father". This keyword provides an overview of the most important information services for expectant fathers, e.g. on the topics of parental allowance and parental leave.

VAETER e.V.

Vaeter e.V. was founded by fathers who are or have been on parental leave or are working reduced hours in order to have more time for their children and families. The experience gained from this time, from the campaigns and the constant exchange with each other and with other organisations, authorities and institutions, among other things, and the knowledge gained beyond this are passed on in seminars, events, consultations to those affected, cooperation partners, interested companies, associations and, of course, especially to other fathers.

The website "Väter in Balance" is a project of Väter.de. It offers information on father-friendly measures in companies and social organisations. The site presents various measures and tools for managers and works councils and offers them for download.

Men reconcile work and family - On the increasing family-orientation of men and examples of solutions for employers

Men on the way to active fatherhood?

The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs wants fathers to become more involved in caring for their children. The parental leave regulations in the Federal Republic of Germany will be modified accordingly from January 2007.
