What does sustainable work and research mean to you? (not only in the ecological context)

To me, sustainable work and research means professional and academic activities that I enjoy doing and those giving immense satisfaction and gratification. These are the activities that I look forward to each day. Only when we enjoy doing a particular work including research, can the activity be sustainable. I enjoy doing research because there are always new things to find, new ideas to try and new questions to answer. Also research is a team effort and requires multidisciplinary collaboration. Thus participation in research brings me in contact with so many interesting people all over the world and all the time making this work exciting and interesting.

 

In your opinion, what need to be done to make the world more peaceful?

In order to make this world peaceful, we all need to have clear goals and commitments to achieve peace and harmony in the society around us. Everyone has a role to play and contribute his/her might to achieve this goal in the society around himself/herself. Also, it is important to move away from our biases and have positive approach towards all issues that confront us and our friends and colleagues.

 

How do you plan to share the results of the forum in a lasting way?

I continue to be active academically and I am associated with Nitte University. Hence I get the opportunity to interact with faculty of different disciplines and students. I would use this opportunity to share the results of the Alumni Forum. I am also encouraging them to participate in DAAD and Humboldt Programmes so that they build their own networks which will widen the reach of the results of DAAD Alumni Forum.

 

Which animal would you consider the better human?

I consider companion animals like cats, dogs, birds and aquarium fish as part of human society. In general, all animals need compassionate
