Dr. Hadya Suleiman

What does sustainable work and research mean to you? (not only in the ecological context)

I think that encouraging international multi-disciplinary scientific projects which bring together expertise to develop solutions for contemporary problems and put visions to handle future crisis would promote high quality sustainable research. In addition, scientific activity must interact directly with local society to improve its quality of life. Therefore, the scientific community should always be connected with stakeholders and policy makers to apply their efforts at the real world.

In your opinion, what needs to be done to make the world more peaceful?

I believe the world will be more peaceful when we are more tolerant to accept the differences between each other. We need to reduce the influence of cultural or religious stereotypes produced and spread by the Media all over the world. This goal can beachieved by educating new generation to have a critical evaluative mind that doesn’t accept blindly information. Also creating more channels for cultural exchange and travelling will help to reduce gap between humans.

How do you plan to share the results of the forum in a lasting way?

First, I will try to implement the new acquired information in postgraduate curriculum top open new perspective for scientific research in our department. On the other hand, I will plan for seminars in the faculty and outside in other faculties(if possible) to share the knowledge I gained during the forum.
