Souzan Ibrahim, Egypt

1. Could you please describe your academic/ professional career in a few words?

I graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Helwan University, 2013 (Bachelor Degree in Tourism). I got my master's degree in Museum Studies as an exchange student between the Helwan University in Egypt and the University of Würzburg, 2017. I am working as a tour guide, a founder of an organization called "Museums for us" and ICOM member.

2. What do you find most fascinating about your home country?

As an Egyptian, I found many interesting and fascinating things in my country. On top of them is the ancient and great history, culture, and civilization of Egypt. Each time I read or learn about the Egyptian civilization, I discover and learn more about it. My study has helped me a lot to enrich my information in an academic way regarding tourism, museums and heritage of the country and the whole world.

3. Do you have any experience regarding a scientific or economic exchange between your home country and countries of the European Union?

I have a scientific experience with my University in Würzburg because I stayed there one semester as M.A student. Unfortunately, my experience with the other European Union countries was not scientific nor economic. It was just touristic experience.

4. What do you think about the importance of Alumni in terms of the cultural, academic and economic exchange?

I think that the University of Würzburg is playing a very important and vital role through the Alumni office and the activities they are doing to connect between the Alumni and there University. The Alumni are of great importance for spreading the culture of their countries especially, when there are international students. On terms of academic benefits, the Alumni can offer help for the current students in terms of the university's life, and for the university by offering many good and applicable researches. All these benefits would affect the economic especially in the existence of the exchange between countries which in turn motivate new and creative ideas for solving the problems that the world is facing.
