1. Could you please describe your academic/ professional career in a few words?

I am Associate Professor in German and Comparative linguistics at the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). I currently hold the position of Vice Dean of Student Affairs at my university.

2. What do you find most fascinating about your home country?

My country has an impressive diversity of landscapes and is exceptionally rich in well-preserved cultural monuments, so that everyone finds something fascinating.

3. Do you have any experience regarding a scientific or economic exchange between your home country and countries of the European Union?

I have a lot of experience in scholarly exchange with EU countries by attending international conferences, editing journals and conference proceedings, and collaborating on joint scientific projects.

4. What do you think about the importance of Alumni in terms of the cultural, academic and economic exchange?

I very much welcome all alumni activities because they allow us to keep in touch with people we met recently and in the past, and they help establish new contacts. They build a bridge between people, educational and business institutions, as well as cultures. They create a sense of belonging and closeness despite all distance.
