Collaborative Research Centers: The University's Flagship Institutions

Collaborative Research Centers (SFBs) are long-term interdisciplinary research facilities in which scientists from various fields work together for periods of up to twelve years. The more Collaborative Research Centers a university operates, the stronger its standing in terms of scientific research.

Collaborative Research Centers are established and financially supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG). To be eligible for funding, the proposals of the universities have to undergo a severe review process.
