In Bavarian Research Groupings, joined together to form the abayfor study group, scientists and scholars are engaged in interdisciplinary work on complex questions. The groupings mostly have a life of three or six years and are spread out over several locations in Bavaria.
The groupings also include partners from the business economy, who do not merely fund, but actively collaborate on projects. This is intended to ensure the speedy implementation of scientific findings.
Academics from the University of Würzburg are involved in the following groupings:
FORAREA - Competence Network for Intercultural Communication
BayFORREST - Waste Research and Recycling
FORINGEN - Infection Genomics
ForNeuroCell - Adult Neural Stem Cells
FORPRION - Prion Research
FORNEL - Nanoelectronics
FOROXID - Multiple-Scale Design of Oxidic Functional Materials
