    Fostering Entrepreneurship

We at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) believe that an environment conducive to entrepreneurship is an environment where: Students, researchers and administrative staff develop and assist each other in the development of ideas that may be translated into businesses. Our University encourages a transfer of knowledge and technology across all Faculties and works in close cooperation with a strong network of partners in the entire region.

It is a strategic goal of the University as a whole to strengthen this ‘start-up community’. The Service Centre Research and Technology Transfer (SFT) acts as a central point of contact, pooling the resources for the support of potential entrepreneurs and working in close cooperation with start-up promoters at all Faculties of JMU. We consider every project that is implemented and every new business that is created with the help of our incubator and other services a success.

    Our vision:

    • JMU uses knowledge and technology transfer to drive innovation and economic growth in Main-Franconia.
    • JMU positions itself as a research institution with a strong record on entrepreneurship.
    • JMU fosters the exploitation of IP, the development of cooperation projects, and the formation of new businesses.
