Advising and other services
Inhouse experts provide advising and other services and are important partners in developing staff training and development program
Unlike mentors and coaches, our advisors offer traditional advising: They provide information and process facilitation services. JMU provides (advisory) services in the areas of research, teaching at higher education level, communication as well as human resources and guest relations.
JMU’s Research Advancement Centre (RAC), the Service Centre Research and Technology Transfer (SFT), the University’s Legal Department, and Unit 3.4 Third-Party Funds and Donations provide assistance and advice for researchers that need help with issues including project development, proposal writing, project execution, and the exploitation of research results.
Teaching at higher education level
JMU’s Service Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (ZiLS) is responsible for coordinating the training and development opportunities the University provides in the area of teaching at higher education level. ZiLS is a member of the Bavarian ProfiLehre/ProfiLehrePlus network. It organizes training courses, workshops, and talks and provides coaching services to promote the professionalization of higher education teaching.
The Press and Public Relations Office of the University provides information and advice on issues surrounding scientific PR and research marketing.
