    Thinking of coming to JMU?

    What do I want to study? Make sure you have a clear idea of what you want to study. What programme fits your interests and talents? What are you planning to do after graduation?

    You need help finding the programme that is right for you?

    • The Academic Advisory Service,
    • the Course Advisory Service, and
    • the Career Service  at JMU will be happy to offer advice.

    These service centres will also be available to provide advice AFTER you have taken up studies (e. g. if you are considering changing subjects).

    Starting out at university can be daunting. Our orientation sessions and bridge courses will help you get to know your Faculty and campuses and settle into university life.

    Orientation sessions

    • Orientation usually takes place the first week of the semester. 
    • Do not miss orientation! It will provide essential information on your classes, exams etc.!

    • If your subject does NOT appear on this list, please check the web page of your Faculty or contact the competent Course Advisory Service.

    The Career Service offers interesting courses and workshops as well as CV/application review appointments and provides you with access to vacancy databases.
