Private Landlords / Landladies

On their website, Studierendenvertretung der Universität Würzburg, the Student Representatives of the University of Würzburg, post a list of rooms to rent from private landlords/landladies, which will help you find accommodation at short notice (mostly in shared apartments).

The Academic Housing Office, Akademische Wohnungsamt des Studentenwerks (Schalterhalle 2nd floor, Am Studentenhaus, hours Monday through Friday, 9 - 13, Phone +49 931/8005-128) and the accommodation service of the Student Representatives' Council  (Sprecherrat der Studentenvertretung der Universität, Room 111, Neue Mensa, Am Hubland, hours Monday through Friday, 9 - 13, Phone +49 931/888-5819) advise and assist students in renting privately-owned rooms. It is advisable to go to these offices as early as possible before the beginning of the semester. Information about rooms cannot be given in writing.

The local daily newspapers, "Main-Post" or "Volksblatt," usually post new advertisements for vacant rooms and apartments on Saturday, sometimes on Wednesday, too. They are also available online.
Internet search: wuewowas.de is the site to look for shared space or single rooms in Würzburg. Other sites offer shared space or single rooms for all of Germany and provide a search mask for Würzburg, e. g. studenten-wg.de or wg-gesucht.de . It is also recommended to use the standard search engines (e. g. www.google.de), entering the relevant German keywords ("Würzburg", "Zimmer", "Wohnung", etc.).
